Vasco Coombs called the meeting to order at 10:05 AM with the Cursillo prayer. Deacon Bob Sullivan, Diocesan Spiritual Director, gave the opening prayer. A quorum was established.

ITEMS APPROVED VIA EMAIL: Minutes of the meeting for March 20, 2010 were approved via email and then posted on the website.

LAY DIRECTORS REPORT: Vasco Coombs reported that the Jamaican Cursillo is coming together. Candidates for the weekend were still being processed and there was going to be one more critique of the Rollos.

Vasco asked if we should expand the music license. Deacon Bob Sullivan will investigate this along with adding Spanish Music to the license.

Vasco has a couple of dates for the 2012 Cursillo Weekends; May 3-6, 2012 and May 17-20, 2012. Vasco made a motion to increase the fees for the weekends as the cost for the Duncan Center was also being increased in 2011. Deacon Bob Sullivan moved to accept the motion to increase the fee for Cursillo weekends from $190 to $200, effective 2011. Bob Anderson seconded and the motion was passed.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Bill Hurd presented the Treasurer's Report. Brenda McGinitis made a motion to accept the report and Bob Sullivan seconded the motion. The motion was approved.

BISHOP'S REPRESENTATIVE: The Policy and Procedures continue to be a work in process.

Jim Barnette will give a workshop at The National Seminar in Myrtle Beach, Florida.

SPANISH CURSILLO: Rev. Orlando Addison stated that the Spanish Women's Weekend is planned for 2011. He requested training for the Spanish Rectora. Steve Vinik has songs from previous Spanish weekends and will send them to Rev. Orlando Addison.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR REPORT: Deacon Bob Sullivan reported that the Spiritual Directors were in place. Team members are looking for scholarships. Bob Anderson suggested that a letter be sent to the Parish Representatives and Rectors with suggestions regarding raising funds for paying for and supporting their members and candidates.

PASTORAL PLAN: Deacon Bob Sullivan stated that the Pastoral Plan was a work in progress at this time.

FOURTH DAY: Brenda McGintis reminded everyone that on May 28, 2010 the First Annual Fundraiser Dance will be held at Holy Family, in Miami.

Sandra Becker is the Rectora for the AWC.

WEEKEND COMMITTEE REPORT: Barbara McKenzie made a motion that the Men's Secretariat Liaison be Steve Vinik and the Women's Secretariat Liaison be Dede Lewis. Brenda McGintis moved to accept the motion; Bill Hurd seconded and the motion was passed.

Barbara McKenzie suggested that commitment letters be sent out to the Cursillo teams outlining the team's responsibilities.

Following discussion, the Secretariat agreed that the Retreat Team Training consistently be a two-day training (usually held as a weekend).

Fran Hunt is going through the current version of the Policy and Procedures Manual to clean it up. The next chapter to be updated will outline the responsibilities of the cha-cha.

ADDITIONAL DISCUSSION: Sherry Fleming will be working with Barbara McKenzie and Stephen Henry will be working with Brenda McGintis so that they will be familiar with these positions when Brenda and Barbara step down and they take over.

NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be on September 12 at 2pm at the Duncan Center.

Bill Hurd made a motion to adjourn and Barbara McKenzie seconded. Deacon Bob Sullivan closed the meeting with a prayer. The meeting was adjourned at 12:30 PM
